I am a coffee person and tea person in one body. A lot of people say it is not possible but honestly, it is, just look at me! being a tea person means I’ve got teas on teas on teas. teas for different occasions, teas for different moods, teas for different purposes, you name it! need a tea recommendation, I’m your best friend. With having so many types of teas, you have to designate a space for all of them to be stored but also displayed in a way that you can see all of them and know what you have in a quick glance. For me, that space resides in my kitchen and I’ve given my teas their very own cupboard!
Within my tea cupboard I’ve employed a few different methods to keep my team organized and within easy view to know what I have (and what to restock on 😉 ). My all-time favorite organizational items are acrylic drawers and risers! I love acrylic drawers for how classy they look, how easy they are to clean, the fact that they don’t retain any smell, and simply because of how classy they look! I decided to use two sets of acrylic drawers from Amazon, to house my teas that come with their own covers.
For teas in bags that don’t have their own individual packets, but come in sachets, I used these amazing and yet very simple glass jars that are airtight with wooden lids! these are also such a favorite of mine simply for the reason that I can stack them on top of each other if I have to, and I can see inside to see if I need to replenish that particular tea. these jars are also amazing because I find that they keep the tea fresh because of the air-tight seal around the lids. for my glass jars, I incorporated a riser, also from Amazon, so that I could use the full height of the cupboard shelf and be able to see all my jars at once and not run the risk of breaking any jars.
Finally, for the time being, I am keeping any loose leaf teas in these awesome canisters from David’s Tea. These act as a home to my slightly lesser used teas. These teas are usually more specialty teas, for example, headache remedies, cold and sinus remedies, flu remedies, and other ailment helpers. The David’s Tea canisters are also air-tight and keep the tea very fresh in both taste and smell which is amazing! Next to the canisters, I used two clear bins from iDesign, which I bought from Amazon Canada! These are great because of the depth, it allows the tea packets to stand upright and they were long enough that I could use one for each type of tea, also do I need to mention again that I love things that I can see into?!
All in all, each shelf is extremely practical and very, very easy to keep neat and tidy while maximizing both height and width. The purchases from Amazon work well to display the teas I currently have and leave room in case I have to add additional storage! Also, super cute side note: since my glass jars have flat lids with no texture I was able to creatively label my teas instead of using a label maker! Each tea from David’s tea comes in a box that has a graphic that is unique to that particular tea! since they are unique I cut them down on fit onto the lids without sacrificing the design! Now my cupboard has pops of color and they make for an AMAZING conversational piece with anyone who sees them in my cupboard!
